We all have our bad hair days, but most of us miss the clues our hair has been telling us about our health and wellness. From the structure to the width to the entire look, there may be an root condition we aren’t alert to yet. Some hair problems are safe, however, many need the interest of a doctor:
Nice hair sheds up to 100 per day which is normal. When you may well not have the ability to count number all the hair strands you lose, if you see that you’re abruptly dropping more hairs than typical, there is certainly something amiss with your iron stores. An excessive amount of shedding could suggest you have anemia, so be sure you get your bloodstream tested. Also eat even more foods that are abundant with iron, including red meats, seafood, beans, and dark leafy vegetables.
2. Hair Thinning
An excessive amount of shedding can also cause thinning hair. If you observe that your mane isn’t as heavy as it used to be, this is resolved with enough protein in your diet. People with gastrointestinal problems or those who had gastric bypass surgeries may not be able to digest protein efficiently. Unfortunately, some cases of hair thinning can’t be fixed because it is hereditary.
3. Dry Hair
This could mean you have hypothyroidism, especially if your hair is also thinning. This thyroid disease does not only change your hair’s appearance, but also cause tiredness, joint and muscle pains, and even weight gain. Taking thyroid medications can help control the problem.
4. Gray Hair
Too much stress can cause graying of hair. This is due to oxidative stress that affects the pigmentation of your cells. But some people don’t experience graying because it’s mostly dependant on a person’s genes.
5. Brittle Hair
Among the symptoms of Cushing’s symptoms is brittle hair. This uncommon condition may necessitate medications, while some need chemotherapy or surgery. Obviously, there are other explanations why you have brittle hair, but look for the condition, particularly if your hair abruptly becomes too brittle.
Some hair problems don’t indicate which you have a ailment, such as:
- White flakes or dandruff
- Yellow dandruff credited to fungi or hormonal imbalance
- Telogen effluvium caused by severe surprise to the machine
- Alopecia areata which may be treated by shots or hair may grow back again alone
