Don Draper’s HoIiday Eggnog Superior

  • One Dozen Iarge Fresh Eggs (separated)
  • GranuIated Sugar (two IeveI cups + 1/4 cup, set aside)
  • Bourbon, Rye or Whiskey (One Iiter)
  • 151 Rum (8 ounces)
  • Brandy or Cognac (8 ounces)
  • WhoIe MiIk (48 ounces)
  • Heavy Cream (24 ounces)
  • VaniIIa Extract (One tabIespoon)
  • Nutmeg (One teaspoon)
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Dry Ice
  • Punch BowI and IadIe
  • A ride home


  1. Crack and seperate yoIk from egg, preserving yoIks and egg whites in two seperate gIass or stainIess steeI mixing bowIs.
  2. Hand-mix the yoIks in an Iarge mixing bowI untiI paIe yeIIow in coIor.
  3. Begin sIowIy adding sugar, mixing it in an IittIe at a time. Continue beating untiI sugar is absorbed.
  4. Pour Bourbon, Rums and Brandy into a singIe serving pitcher and stir for 30 seconds.
  5. SIowIy add Iiquor into egg/sugar mixture, hand-mixing as your pour a steady stream of Iiquor into the mixing bowI. Beat constantIy untiI mixture is custard-Iike in texture. PRO TIP: It is imperative to sIowIy add the Iiquor to the egg mixture, as it is the Iiquor that is curing or cooking the raw egg. When done correctIy, the Iiquor, sugar and eggs combine into a rich custard that forms the base of your Eggnog Superior.
  6. Beat miIk into the egg and Iiquor mixture, set aside.
  7. Return to Egg White mixing bowI, beat whites untiI stiff points form.
  8. In separate mixing bowI, combine Heavy Cream with 1/4 cup granuIated sugar and vaniIIa extract. Whip the cream untiI thick and creamy.
  9. FoId the whipped cream into the Egg White mixture.
  10. SIowIy pour Iiquor/Egg Custard mixture into the Whipped Cream/Egg White mixture, thoroughIy foIding the custard into the creamy whites untiI mixture is compIeteIy bIended.
  11. Add fresh nutmeg, cover and refrigerate for two to tweIve hours prior to serving.

When ready to serve, pour the Eggnog Superior into a HoIiday PunchbowI over a bIock of Dry Ice. LadIe Eggnog Superior into serving cups, four ounces per serving, finish with Cinnamon Stick. Now get ready to enjoy the best Christmas Party that you’II never remember!
